JAMES (Jim) NELSON
Jim is a Texan through and through. He was born in Houston, grew up in Tomball, graduated from Texas A&M, and traveled the world in the oil and gas pipeline business. Today he lives in Galveston with his beautiful bride, Joy Jones. Although he was educated and executed a professional career as an engineer, Jim has always loved writing and expressing his uniquely Texas opinion and views in prose. He has written and published the chronicles of his early life growing up in Southeast Texas in, Short Stories and Tall Tales from Along Spring Creek. In addition, he co-wrote two historical fiction novels with his wife. As a former Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in Texas, Jim has worked for large companies such as ExxonMobil and Perot Systems, as well as, started some six different small companies, many of which are still in existence today.
Joy Jones, a native Texan, lives in Galveston, TX with her husband, James Nelson. Professionally, Dr. Jones is a retired teacher with over 30 years of experience in Texas and New Mexico public classrooms. As an educator, she held both state and university positions for the New Mexico Department of Education in Santa Fe, and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Educationally, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Education, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology. She is a published author of five books (four stand alone -two narrative non fiction, one fiction, and one historical fiction, plus her most recent books co-written with her husband).
