Genre writer Gretchen Rix was born in North Carolina many, many years ago, but got to Texas as soon as she could. She now resides in Lockhart, a small town near Austin that is the official BBQ capital of Texas. Her current wish list is for a Schlotzsky’s or Taco Cabana to set up shop in town.

At one time her favorite books were TARZAN OF THE APES and THE BLACK STALLION. By now, all the books by Terry Pratchett and Dick Francis have joined the list. Plus a lot more. She still loves STAR TREK

Talking To The Dead Guys

Talking To The Dead Guys

Fiction, Juvenile Fiction,Women Sleuths

TALKING TO THE DEAD GUYS This is a Texas mystery about a dog, strong women, and small town living (or is it dying?), sort of a Texas cozy. Cue in the theme music from "Dallas." Shoot! I'll cut right to the chase. This is about how me and my sister's mastiff Boo Radley dragged me off my feet during the damned cemetery tour in Lockhart right onto a dead corpse. And that's just chapter one. Welcome to Lockhart, The Barbecue Capital of Texas, where there is more than indigestion brewing. This is the newest novel from Gretchen Rix, the author of THE COWBOY'S BABY, ARROYO and several quirky short stories.

There are plenty of giggles and guffaws as the romance unrolls (pun intended), plus an array of adorable animals prancing throughout this lighthearted narrative. Texana fiction lovers - this one's for you!
